Belles and Idols and stuff
This season of American Idol was excellent. The Top 4 were each valid contenders and I liked both of the final 2. The finale was just really good TV. Plus which, I got to see KISS *thrashes*
I thought it funny that Kris sang about kissing girls and Adam sang a metaphorical apology to all girls because he “and the boys are playing all night”. I just thought that was funny is all. So I was totally engaged in that TV show program. Speaking of engagements…
Katelyn met Leland in preschool when she was 5, I think. He was her “boyfriend” from that time until she was in 6th grade or somesuch. By “boyfriend” I mean that every Valentines Day Leland’s mother would drive him by our house and he would deliver Katelyn a box of chocolates or a necklace or flowers and a Valentine. Awwwww.In November or December of ’08 Katy and Leland started dating again. Leland is stationed in San Diego and is serving in the United States Navy. The last I spoke to Katelyn I believe that he was recently promoted to the rank of Awesome 1st Class. He is home on a short leave right now.
I am an historically poor seer. Prognostication is not my strength, I am more gifted in Gnostication, I guess. Alas, that I see the future but dimly. However, word around the campfire is that sometime at dinner tonight, Leland is going to ask me for Katelyn’s hand in marriage.
My deal with Katelyn is that her hand has always been her hand to give to whom she wished whenever she wished (provided of course, that I was long dead). So this is happening a little early in my book. But truthfully, I always thought that I would dread and fear and mourn this day (and, certainly, the day ain’t over yet), but I don't think I could be happier.

YAY!!! I am so happy to hear it! Glad you pulled the curtain back a little on their relationship! I was worried when I had no idea who this durn boy was, but now that I can see how cool this whole thing is, I am not worried.......just thrilled!!! :)

@BigToePeople - I guess I never got around to updating this, but they are now officially engaged. He'd asked her if she would marry him and she'd said she would, but he would not consider himself engaged without my permission and blessing. He's a great guy. I still weep a little thinking about how great this is.
